were exposed to THE HAZARD OF BEING STRUCK-BY THE LOAD/EQUIPMENT:
a)Throughout the facility, on or about 10/30/03:  The support structures
for the
following hoists had unknown load capacity ratings:
1)Main Floor Grinding, 1-Ton CM Hoist.
2)Groat Room, 1-Ton CM Hoist.
3)Groat Room, 1-Ton CM Hoist.
Among other methods, one feasible method of abatement is to inspect the
support
structures for the hoists as per ASME B30.16-1993, to ensure the structure
is
designed to withstand the loads and forces imposed by the hoist for the
rated load.
b)Throughout the facility, on or about 10/30/03: The following
below-the-hook
lifting devices had unknown load capacity ratings.
1)Main Floor Grinding, 1-Ton CM Hoist, below-the-hook lifting device.
2)Groat Room, 1-Ton CM Hoist, below-the-hook lifting device.
3)Groat Room, 1-Ton CM Hoist, below-the-hook lifting device.
Among other methods, one feasible method of abatement is to conduct
frequent and
periodic inspections of the lifting device and mark the lifting device
with the rated
load capacity as per ASME B30.20-1993.
Abatement certification must be submitted for these items.
