Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of this employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by hazards: (a)Integrated Airline Services & 26200B East 75th Avenue, Denver, CO: On or before April 28, 2003, the exposed employer did not ensure that employees operating forklifts utilized personal restraint devices (seat belts) during vehicle operation. Employees were exposed to the hazard of being ejected from the vehicle. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to: (a)Reinstall a seat belt and retrain employees on seat belt use in accordance with ASME/ANSI B56.1-1993 Safety Standard for Low Lift and High Lift Trucks. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is not required for this item. Corrected during inspection.
