Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Molding Room - The Enco 360 vertical metal cutting band saw #36585 was not equipped with a magnetic restarter or similar device, as prescribed by the American National Standards, ANSI B11.10-1990, Section 5.2.3.4, that in the event of an interruption in the electrical supply would prevent the saw from restarting automatically when power is restored. A feasible means of abatement would be to provide a magnetic restarter or similar device as required by ANSI B11.10-1990. Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
