Grinding Area:  The wire rope on the Coffing 500 pound hoist was worn and
had an excessive number of
broken wires.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is:
1.Develop and implement a monthly wire rope inspection program.
2.Replace running ropes on hoist when the ropes show an unacceptable
amount of wear.
