Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
Materials Cleaning Area - Employer had a refrigerator and a microwave oven
connected to a
110 volts outlet while the floor was wet, and it was next to the acid tank
(Technoclean and
Okemcoat) that was used for cleaning the aluminum from grease, dirt and
the like, the area was
wet, creating an electrical hazard. The tank dimensions were 17' long x
20"
inches deep; this
operation was done daily.  Among others method, one feasible and
acceptable method is to
remove the refrigerator and microwave oven away from the tank and wet
areas.
Hazard: Electrical shock.
Area de limpieza de materiales - Patrono contaba con nevera y horno de
microondas conectado
a un tomacorriente de 110 voltios mientras el piso estaba mojado, y estaba
al lado de un tanque
de acido ("Technoclean" y "Okemcoat") que se usaba para limpiar el
aluminio de grasa, sucio,
entre otros, el area estaba mojada, creando un riesgo electrico.  Las
dimensiones del tanque eran
17' pies x 20" pulgadas de profundidad; la operacion era realizada a
diario.  Entre otros
metodos, un metodo factible y aceptable es remover la nevera y el horno de
microondas fuera
del tanque y areas mojadas.
Riesgo: Choque electrico.
