Section 5 (a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that an employee was exposed to the hazard of being thrown or falling off the top of the man basket while the truck exceeded one and a half mph: (A)15th Street and Resseguie Street: On 20 May 2003, an employee was observed sitting on top of the Telsta boom's man basket without being tied off while the truck travel approximately 30 mph up 15th street. ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD, AMONG OTHERS, TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO: Follow the manufacturer's warning to travel no faster than one and a half mph when an employee is in the manbasket. Note: Abatement certification required for this item.
