Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to potential electrocution from overhead power lines: (a) Project 03-5198: On April 7, 2004, the employer failed to coordinate with Idaho Power to have power systems in close proximity reduced to the "one shot" mode in accordance with their safety program. Thereby, the operator of the excavator model 330cLC, PIN F330CX082296 made contact with an overhead 7,200-volt transmission distribution line. Note: Abatement certification and documentation required for this item.
