Section 5 (a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of collapse and being caught between: (a)Idaho Falls Pediatric: On September 7, 2004, employee(s) were exposed to a collapse and being caught between hazard while installing approximate 70 foot span trusses that were not properly braced. Note 1: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to follow the guidelines set forth in the Building Component Safety Information (BCSI)-B1 Summary Sheet, guide for handling, installing and bracing of metal plate connected wood trusses. Note 2: Abatement certification is required for this item.
