Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to working from a elevated work platform without a properly installed emergency escape line and Geronimo device: a) Erie County, Corry City Limits, Grice T 3 Well - On or about July 15, 2005 the emergency escape Geronimo device was improperly installed on the decent line hazard is to provide an emergency escape means (such as a Geronimo Line) for any employee working from the derrick board, as specified by Section 6.10.1 of the American Petroleum Institute (API) Standard RP 54-1999, "Recommended Practices for Occupational Safety and Health for Oil and Gas Well Drilling and Servicing Operations."
