Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:On or about 06/18/03 Location:Warehouse Condition:Personal eyewash bottles provided for employee(s) cheking the fluid level of the battery of an electric forklift were not capable of providing 1.5 liters (0.4 gallon) of flushing fluid per minute for 15 minutes. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to provide an eyewash facility which meets the requirements of American National Standard for Emergency Eyewash and Shower Equipment Z358.1-1981.
