Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to burns as due to ignition of gasoline:
a)Service Department:  Employees who transfer gasoline from
automobile fuel tanks during operations such as, but not limited to,
fuel pump repairs, did not use the appropriate equipment, such as
but not limited, an approved gas caddy, on or about February 16,
2005.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard
would be to provide and train employees in the use an approved portable
pump and storage tank
as required in NFPA 30A Motor Fuel Dispensing Facilities and Repair
Garages, 2003 Edition.
