North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Ref: American National Standard (ANSI) Z245.1-1992 para. 6.2.4. (a) a)facility - employees riding on the rear step of a refuse truck while traveling in reverse. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is in addition to training employees in safe work practices to monitor work practices, and implement a disciplinary policy when employees fail to follow standard operating procedure.

Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is conduct required training and document.
