Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a struck by hazard. a) 6 Maestro Court, Jackson, NJ 08527 - Workers not directly involved in the removal of a tree were not clear of the work area beyond the length of the tree. On or about 06/12/03. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible method to correct this hazard is to: 1) follow ANSI Z133.1-2000, Section 9.5.6 that states, "Workers not directly involved in the removal operation shall be clear of the work area where practicable beyond the length of the tree unless a team of employees is necessary to remove a particular tree. 2) Follow all parts of ANSI Z133.1-2000 that apply to tree felling/removal. NOTE:ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM. See page 2,"Notification of Corrective Action" for instructions.
