Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm: Compressed air PVC ASTM schedule 40 lines were used to transport compress air in excess of 100 PSI as part of daily operations. This exposed employee(s) to the hazard of being struck by flying plastic debris. A feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard would be to ensure the transport system used for compressed air is nationally approved piping system, such as Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS) or metal piping.
