Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: a. Receive serious injuries due to insufficience in occupancy space that delay emergency access to exit of a rectangular shape work office 27 feet length by 12 feet width occupied with 10 employee and office equipment. At the time of the inspection, office operations were performed by employees. Among other methods one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard to provide 100 sq.ft. floor area per person: As required in NFPA 1985 Sec. 27-1.7.1 (or later edition). a. Recibir lesiones serias debido a insuficiente espacio de ocupacion que dilata acceso a salida de emergencia, en oficina de trabajo en forma de rectangular, 27 pies de largo por 12 pies de ancho con 10 empleados y equipo de oficina. Al momento de la inspeccion empleados realizaban operaciones de oficina. Entre otros metodos, un metodo aceptable y posible para corregir este riesgo es proveer 100 pies cuadrados de area por persona; segun requiere NFPA 1985 Sec. 27-1.7.1 ( o version adelantada).
