Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized
hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
A.  Receive injuries due to that at the time of inspection at the
establishment Manuel
G.Pato Junior High School, building, 2nd.floor, southwest side, class
rooms #17 and 18,
where the premises used in whole or in part as a place of employment for
Department
of Education employees, did not comply with all the occupational safety
and health
regulations issued pursuant to this act; the employees were exposed when
performing
educational services to the following hazards:
1. Falling water and paint flakes debris due to water filtrations from
ceiling structure
fisures.
2. Electrical contact hazards due to the wetting of lights electrical
wiring from water
filtrations.
3. Fugitive dust particles due to unsealed concrete floor repairs.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptabble abatement method to
correct these
hazards is to:
a.Make the appropiated repairs accordingly and expeditious, and/or
b.Relocated employees to a place free from these and other recognized
hazards.
Recibir lesiones debido a que al momento de la inspeccion en
establecimiento, edificio
Escuela Intermedia Manuel G Pato, 2nd.piso, lado suroeste, aulas #17 y 18
donde
premisas usadas todo o en parte como un sitio de empleo por empleados del
Departamento de Educacion no cumplio con todas los regulaciones de
seguridad y salud
emitidas de acuerdo a esta ley; los empleados estaban expuestos cuando
realizaban
servicios educacionales a los siguientes riesgos:
1. Caida de agua y residuos de  hojuelas de pintura debido a filtraciones
por fisuras en
el techo.
2. Riesgos de contacto electrico debido a alambrado mojado de luces por
filtraciones de
agua.
3. Particulas de polvo fugitivas por concreto descubierto de reparaciones
en piso.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo aceptable y factible para corregir este
riesgo es:
a.Hacer las reparaciones requeridas y en forma expedita, y/o
b.Reubicar los empleados a un area que este libre de estos y otros riesgos
reconocidos.
