Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
a.  Cause serious injuries  due to the use of a hydraulic ramp trademark
Action Rack,
Model number FS-5278 of 6000 pounds capacity with a mechanical deffect. An
employee
was working under ramp number 2 with a car on it and the ramp fell down
hitting the
employee. This happened at the right side of the mechanical shop. Among
other
methods,
one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to
fix the
deffective ramp and make a new inspection of the equipment.
a.  Recibir lesiones serias debido al uso de una rampa defectuosa marca
Action Rack,
Modelo FS-5278, con capacidad de 6000 lbs. Un empleado estaba trabajando
en un auto
levantado en la rampa numero 2 (al lado izquierdo del taller de mecanica),
y le cayo la
rampa encima hiriendolo seriamente.  Entre otros metodos, un metodo
aceptable y
factible para corregir este riesgo es corregir el defecto de la rampa e
inspeccionarla de
nuevo.
