Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees working from a personnel platform elevated from a rough terrain forklift. a)2113 Manning Drive Jobsite - Employees working from an elevated platform that was not secured to the lifting carriage or forks. b)2113 Manning Drive Jobsite - Employees working from an elevated platform that did not have a complete guardrail system. The front guardrail was missing from the platform. c)2113 Manning Drive Jobsite - Employees working from an elevated platform were standing on a stack of plywood. Employees were not maintaining a firm footing on the platform floor. Among feasible means of abatement would be to comply with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, ASME B56.6a-1994 Safety Standard for Rough Terrain Forklift Trucks.
