Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational safety and Heath Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm in that employees were exposed to potential impalement hazards by working/walking near vertical unprotected pieces of hollow metal pipe. a. Magnet Street job site. On or about October 30th, 2003 employees were exposed to an impalement hazard while climbing a ladder used to access the second floor and while working on the second floor near the wall openings on the south side of the building. CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION.
