Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall and/or crushing hazards created by the unstable inclined portable conveyer. Location: 480 Commercial Street, Boston. The employees were exposed to crushing hazards while operating the conveyor with the stabilizer not fully extended. a) One way to abate this condition is to comply with ANSI B20.1-2000, Safety Standards for Conveyors and Related Equipment. b) Ensure operators are trained to properly set up the conveyor in accordance to the manufacturer's specification. c) Ensure all employees have full comprehension of manufacturer's instructions, warning and design limitations.,
