North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to hoists/cranes that had not been load tested: a)Acetylene Plant - The 1/2 ton David Round Cable Air Hoist had not been load tested. b)Pump House - The 1/4 ton hoist, unknown manufacturer, had not been load tested. Reference: ANSI B30.11-1980, paragraph 2.2.2. ABATEMENT NOTE: AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO HAVE ALL OF THE HOISTS AND CRANES LOAD TESTED AND MAINTAIN A CERTIFICATE OF THE LOAD TESTS.ICATE
