ASME A17.3-2003, 3.10.7  "Devices for Making the Hoistway Door Interlocks
or Electric
Contacts, or Car Doors or Gate Electric Contacts Inoperative":
1)Devices other than those specified below shall not be provided to render
hoistway door interlocks, the electric contacts of hoistways door
combination
mechanical locks and electric contacts, or car door or gate electric
contacts
inoperative: Leveling devices, truck-zoning devices, hoistways access
switch,
existing devices that do not conform to the above shall be removed.
Note: The employer is required to submit abatement certification for this
item. Failure to
comply will result in an additional penalty of $1,000.00 as per 29 CFR
1903.19.
