Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: adequate and proper diagonal bracing was not installed to hold the trusses up as recommended by the truss manufacturer and HIB-91. a. Location - 4112 Coronado Pkwy, Cape Coral, FL 33904. On or about 9/26/2003, employees were standing on the trusses without having adequate or proper bracing installed on the trusses or bearing walls, allowing the trusses to collapse. AMONG OTHER METHODS ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE MEANS OF ABATEMENT WOULD BE TO FOLLOW THE TRUSS PLATE INSTITUTE'S RECOMMENDATIONS FOR TEMPORARY BRACING OF TRUSSES AS WRITTEN IN HIB-91.
