Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of falling: (a)Atlas Resin Proppants, L. P., N7500 County Highway P, Taylor, WI: On the third level at piping leading up to the scrubber, an operator was exposed to the hazard of falling from the top two steps of the six-foot step ladder he was using. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to replace this ladder with one approved for this purpose and height as specified by ANSI A 14.5-2000, American National Standard for Ladders - Portable Reinforced Plastic -- Safety Requirements. Abatement Note: Abatement Certification required for this item.
