and a place of employment which were
free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or
serious physical harm to employee(s) in
that:
(a) The employer could not document that he had established a periodic
inspection procedure to ensure the safe
operation of the Forward brand model 9000 twin post lift in use in the
garage area at 200 Moose Road, Woodstock,
VA. ANSI/ALI  B153.1-1990 Section 7.3 requires  that the employer shall
establish a periodic inspection procedure as
recommended by the manufacturer to ensure the safe operation of the lift.
One feasible and acceptable abatement method would be to establish a
routine preventive maintenance and inspection
schedule with a commercial automobile lift service company or the
manufacturer of the lift.
