Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
The Safety Program did not require appropiate hand protection of
insulating gloves on both
hands at all time for employees working with conductive tools under
electric power lines.  It
only required the use of work gloves on one hand except not on the hand
that manages the
machete.
Hazard:  Electric shock, burns, and electrocution.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is
to require the use of insulated gloves on both hands at all times.
El Programa de Seguridad no requirio proteccion apropiada para las manos
de guantes aislantes
en ambas manos y en todo momento para empleados trabajando con
herramientas conductivas
debajo de lineas electricas.  Solamente requirio el uso de guantes de
trabajo en una mano
excepto en la mano que maneja el machete.
Riesgo:  Sacudida electrica, quemaduras, y electrocuccion.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo factible y aceptable de corregir este
riesgo es de requerir el uso
de guantes insulados en ambas manos en todo momento.s
