Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to [STATE HAZARD, E.G., CRUSHING HAZARD]: (a)Construction site at 29546 N Main St, Daphne, Al: The sub-contractor installed 1/2 inch pipe for electrical runs throughout the finished concrete poured fifth floor and left them protruding 12 to 14 inches up which exposed the General Contractors employees working on the fifth floor to impalement hazards for one week. Among other methods of abatement is to install plastic caps on the exposed ends of the pipe.
