North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to: a)storage room area-a large propane tank with an open flame heating unit was used to heat the working area where up to 16 cylinders of oxygen were stored and filling medical canisters, 15 feet from ignition source. (ref MSDS for oxygen, para 3.5 Compressed Gas Association, Inc. Pamphlet P-1). ONE FEASIBLE MEANS OF ABATEMENT IS TO REMOVE THE TANK AND BURNER FROM THE AREA.

North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to: a)storage/equipment room-electrical equipment in room used to transfer oxygen from large compressed gas cylinders to smaller medical tanks, were not suited for a potentially oxygen enriched atmosphere. (ref MSDS for oxygen, BOC Gasses and Air Liquide America Corporation). ONE FEASABLE MEANS OF ABATEMENT IS TO INSTALL THE PROPER FIXTURES IN THE FACILITY.
