Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of falls. a.On or about 02/13/04, at 1000 Tom Williams Way, Birmingham, AL- An employee was observed elevated 27 feet on the forks of a LULL rough-terrain forklift, exposing the employee the the hazard of falls. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is with the requirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers document A B56.1-1969, Section 503, Safety Standard for Powered Industrial Trucks.ial
