North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each employee conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a)including, but not limited to, the storage rack(s) at the rear of the facility with damaged vertical supports and flexing horizontal beams. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods for correcting this hazard includes, but is not limited to: 1.Determine and post load rating of storage rack system. 2.Load storage rack systems as per manufacturers/installers recommendations. 3.Inspect and repair storage rack systems as per manufacturers/installers recommendations. 4.Allow only trained lift truck operators to load and unload materials from storage rack system.
