Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about 6/30/04, an employee was exposed to a fire hazard while flushing a line in the sealer electrostatic spray booth, because the employer used a combustible material (cardboard) to cover the floor. One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to use Spark Gard Grade BWA-100 to cover the floor. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
