Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that werecausing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees wereexposed to fall hazards: Employees installing exterior trim at the jobsite were working from an work platform that was being elevated by a industrial forktruck without fall protection. Employees were exposed to fall hazards of approximately ten feet to dirt ground below. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS: Provide fall protection for work platforms that are elevated by the industrial forktruck in accordance with the requirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers document B56.6-1992. 29 CFR 1903.19(c)(2) abatement of the above violation was verified at the time of inspection, no certification is required.
