Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The
employer did not furnish
employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized
hazards that were
causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to fall hazards while riding the lifting mechanism on the front of
the forklift to gain
access to the working level of the scaffold at the job site:
Two employees working at the job site were observed being raised to the
scaffold work platform
by riding the forklift forks.  Working level to ground measured to be 10
foot 6 inches.
Employees exposed to fall hazards.
AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO
CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS: Use proper ladders or built in scaffold stairs to
reach work
levels.
29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) requires certification that the abatement of the
above
violation is
completed.
