Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to falls: (a) Tarp area - Drivers without fall protection were exposed to falls of 12 feet, while standing on top of roofing materials on a 48 foot flat bed trailer, to lay tarp over the materials. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to: (1) Provide fall protection systems to the drivers when they are exposed to falls that are 6 feet or more from the ground. ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREDATION
