Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to the hazard of falls.
a.On or about 03/18/04, at 2150 Hwy 11 North Trussville, AL - An employee
was
observed elevated 17 feet on a 3/4x4x8 plywood decking laying on the forks
of
a Ingersol Rough-Terrain Forklift, exposing the employee to the hazard of
falls.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard
is with the requirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers
Standard ANSI B56.1-1993, Section 4 Safety Standard Low Lift and High Lift
trucks.
