P.L. 91-596 Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck-by materials or falling from an elevated position in the event of a truss collapse: a) 431 South Mock Road - Roof trusses were not adequately braced to prevent the trusses from collapsing, exposing employees to a 13 feet fall hazard. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install and secure the trusses in accordance with the recommendations of the Truss Plate Institute contained in the Building Component Safety Information BCSI 1-03 "Guide to Good Practice for Handling, Installing & Bracing of Metal Plate Connected Wood Trusses".
