P.L. 91-596 Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard(s) of a fall from an aerial lift in the event of failure and/or struck-by an elevated roof truss: A) North side of building site - Employees were using a Genie S-120 boom-supported elevating work platform to elevate and position roof trusses onto the roof of the building. A feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to use a crane or other piece of hoisting equipment to elevate and position the roof trusses.
