P.L. 91-596 Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of back injuries from pulling and pushing boxes on a wheel conveyor with damaged wheels: A) CVP Room - Employees have to push and pull boxes of chicken parts along wheel conveyor systems that are set up as a racks. The wheels on the South end of the conveyor system are damaged making pulling or pushing the boxes difficult. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to have the wheels on the wheel conveyor repaired.

P.L. 91-596 Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of falling from a wheel conveyor rack system: A) CVP Room - Employees have to climb into a wheel conveyor rack system to push and or pull boxes containing chicken parts. The employees work up to a height of 14 feet exposed to fall hazards without using fall protection Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard is to provide a fall protection system employees can use and require them to use it.
