General-duty citation text
North Carolina General Statue 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a)the potential of being crushed and/or caught between the aboveground hydraulic lifts. Employees operating the three Hydraulic Aboveground Automobile lifts were not provided with the operation manual and training that was required to be read before operating the lifts in the repair bay area. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard was to develop operator safety training from the manufacturers operation manual with documentation.
