Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
At the building where the WIC offices were located - The ceiling had
crevices and filtration
spots that made the floor of the office wet, the employees put containers
to collect the water to
avoid the wet spots.
Among others methods, one feasible and acceptable method is to apply a
sealer to the ceiling
in order to correct the filtrations.
Hazard: Slip and falls.
En el edificio donde estan localizadas las oficinas del WIC - El techo
contaba con grietas y
puntos de filtraciones que hacian que el piso de la oficina se mojara, los
empleados colocaban
contenedores para recojer el agua y evitar los charcos.
Entre otros metodos, uno factible y aceptable es aplicar un sellador al
techo para correjir las
filtraciones.
Riesgo: Caidas y resbalones.s.
