Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The
employer
did not furnish
employment and a place of employment which were free from recognizaed
hazards that were
causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in
that:
On or about July 12, 2004, two employees (working on the eaves of a
building) were standing
on wood stock positioned on the forks of an unattended powered industrial
truck.  The forks,
elevated 10 feet about the ground, did not have a safety platform attached
to the lifting device,
exposing employees to the hazard of falls.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is
to ensure that a safety platform designed for lifting personnel is
properly attached to the forks
of the lift.
