Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from reconized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in thatemployees were exposed to: (a) Establishment: Employees operating powered industrial trucks were not wearing the attached seat belts. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard would be to require and effectively enforce the use of operator restraint systems while operating forklift trucks provided with them as required by ANSI/AMSE B56.1,paragraph 5.3.19.
