Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to possible crushing hazards: On or about 05/26/06, the employer failed to ensure that jacks were firmly supported at the base in such a manner that they could not shift under the load. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means of abatement include; 1) Leveling the ground on which the jacks are placed, 2) Placing blocking under the jacks to prevent sinking and tipping of the jacks.
