At the establishment, located at 3100 E . Main Street, Russellville,
Arkansas, employees
were driving forklifts where fog and condensation obscured the forklift
and walkie
drivers vision, exposing the employees to the hazards of being struck by a
forklift or
walkie, and/or striking other forklifts, walkies, walls or stationary
objects, in the
following instances:
(a)Mirrors in the shipping and receiving area are covered in condensation,
obscuring the view around the corner of a cross aisle.
(b)There was dense fog in the shipping and receiving area, obscuring the
view of forklift and walkie drivers.
Among other methods, two feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard are
(1) install a Positive Air System to control the humidity and temperature
of the indoor
environment and (2) maintain plastic partitions in good conditon between
blast cells and other
departments.
