a)  One feasible method of correcting this hazard is to implement and
follow the
American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) B56.6-2002 (Safety
Standard for
Rough Terrain Forklift Trucks) Section 6.2.11: Ensure that the lift is not
left unattended
- the lift is considered to be left unattended when the operator is more
than twenty-five
(25) feet away from the lift which remains in his view. Section 8.24;
Platforms for
elevating Personnel: 8.24.1(b): Properly construct the work platform so
that it is no more
that a total of twenty (20) inches (ten inches on each side) wider than
the wheel base of
the lift. 8.24.1(f)(1-2): prominently indicate the maximum workload of the
platform
(including personnel and equipment) and the empty weight of the platform.
