employer did not furnish
employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized
hazards that were
causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to fall hazards:
A) On or about 2/7/06: Terminal One
Mobile ladder stand, used at Gate 5, had defects and was not taken out of
service. The mobile
ladder stand had a bent support leg.
B) On or about 2/7/06: Terminal One, Gate 10 & 11
Mobile ladder stand, used at Gate 10 & 11, had defects and was not taken
out of service. The
mobile ladder stand had missing steps.
AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO
CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO:
Ensure that defective or damaged ladder stands are not used and
immediately taken out of
sevice.
