Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees operating or working in the vicinity of articulating boom cranes(s) and underhung monorail crane(s) were exposed to hazards associated with being struck by loads due to failure of the cranes or components of equipment having defects: Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means to correct these hazards include the establishment of a program of inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance in accordance with the American National Standards Institute/American Society of Mechanical Engineers Standard ANSI/ASMI B 30.22 for Articulating Boom Cranes and with ANSI B30.11, Monorail Systems and Underhung Cranes.ng
