employees were exposed to
burning hazards while performing daily maintenance checks of the equipment
located in the
boiler room:
a) On or about May 9, 2005 and times prior, employees were exposed to
burns from coming
in contact with the heat exchanger located in the boiler room. The heat
exchanger had been
installed in February 2005 and had no protective insulation wrapped around
this unit to protect
employees from serious burns.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazardous
condition would be to install protective insulation around the heat
exchanger
and all accessors
attached to this unit.
