Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to THE HAZARD OF BEING STRUCK-BY THE LOAD:
a)On or about 03/17/2005, the following overhead hoists had not been
inspected
and records maintained:
1.Milling pallet area an electric operated Coffing, rated at 250 lbs,
overhead hoist had not been inspected with records maintained.
2.Milling pallet area a manual Duffy Lynx, rated at 250 lbs, overhead
hoist had not been inspected with records maintained.
3.Receiving area an electric Coffing, rated at 1 ton, overhead hoist had
not been inspected with records maintained.
Among other methods, several feasible and acceptable abatement methods to
correct
this hazard are to:
1.Conduct frequent and periodic inspections and maintain records of the
hoist
inspections in accordance with ANSI B30.16, 1993 Overhead Hoists.d
