North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety
and Health Act of North Carolina:  The employer did not furnish to
each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of
employment which were free from recognized hazards that were
causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees:
a)jobsite, employees were setting and installing
wooden roof trusses ranging from 42'43/4"-
69'3/4" span, adequate bracing was not
installed to prevent collapse as recommended
by the Truss Plate Institute HIB-91 Summary
Sheet.
b)jobsite, employees were rigging and lifting
wooden roof trusses ranging from 42'43/4"-
69'3/4" span with wire rope slings, a
strongback and spreader bar was not utilized
to prevent trusses breaking and falling while
suspended as recommended by the Truss Plate
Institute HIB-91 Summary Sheet.
NOTE:  Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to
abate this hazard would be:
1- Follow the design and installation recommendations
for adequate bracing per the Truss Plate Institute
HIB-91 Summary Sheet.
2-  Consult a Registered Professional Engineer for
bracing designs and procedures.
3-  Follow the Mechanical Installation recommendations
for appropriate lifting devices/configurations per
the Truss Plate Institute HIB-91 Summary Sheet.
